We Musk save the world is a game me and my team made during the 2020 January global game jam.
The theme for this game jam was "repair", at first we had no idea what to make be we ended up with a...strange idea to say the least.
I was the level designer and in charge of sounds, obviously in a global game jam we had very little time, so I designed the main menu music, and luckily at the time of the global game jam, Elon Musk himself released a new EDM track, "don't doubt your vibe!"
We obviously credited the song for the game, but it was too good not to use.
You play as Elon Musk after being turned into a small creature trying to take his company back from robots.
Command your robot to do tasks and solve puzzles while it distracts enemies, you musk save the world!
Role
During this Global Game Jam my job was to help out with the team to come up with an idea going with the theme "Repair".
Afterwards I was set on the following jobs:

Game Mechanics
In the game you play as Elon and his pet robot and need to take control back of your company.
The core gameplay loop is to distract the enemy robots with your robot while you solve puzzles in the background that would destroy the enemies.
You only have access to a small amount of abilities:

Jump.
-
Whistle - This calls your robot to the next location to distract enemy robots, giving you time to destroy them.

Repair - Some areas need repairing such as fire cannons and elevators.

Interact - With the interact you can solve puzzles throughout the level and open vents.
Some of the puzzles are similar to existing ones such as lights out, due to the time frame of the game jam we didn't have much space to experiment with much, but we were happy as a team with what we accomplished.
The Team
It was amazing to work on this project and it wouldn't have been possible without the team I made it with.
Every moment was a pleasure, even if the most sleep any of us got in the game jam was about 6 hours!
