Veramore Trailer

Veramore Gameplay

Here is some gameplay of my game Veramore!

The project was something I worked on on and off while managing several other projects over the course of two university semesters.

Veramore is one of my main university projects.
Set in the dungeons and dragons universe, you play as a young mage sent out to uncover the sudden silence of a local town.

Use a mixture of spells from fireball, to mage hand and many more classic dungeons and dragons spells to fight back the devils invading this innocent town called Sholum.

A mixture between 3rd person platformer games and survival horror, Veramore takes the the player and puts them into a very unfamiliar setting with beautiful vistas, encounters and stories to discover.

This project was made in Unreal Engine 4 and consists of 2 levels with a 3rd one still being made.

All of the assets are from the UE4 Infinity blade packs to give more of an environmental touch.

The music for this game was made by https://twitter.com/liamhuntstr.

Game Mechanics

Veramore is inspired by games such as Spyro, Resident evil, Crash and many more.

The main gameplay loop is that you collect mana orbs that are scattered around the world, you can also collect energy orbs that restore health and life orbs which grant extra player lives.

After collecting a certain amount of Mana, the player will unlock new spells, they can also unlock new spells via quest rewards.

List of Spells:

Fireball - Your base projectile that can damage enemies and destroy weak objects containing Mana and can destroy weak doors revealing new pathways.

Mage Hand - A small form of telekinesis allowing the player to lift small objects into the air, this ranges from planks of wood, to tables and more allowing the player to stack objects and build pathways to otherwise unreachable areas.

Gust/Double Jump - This spell is obtained through a quest in the second level, changing the play-style completely allowing the player to have great leap and cover my distance with their jump.

Light - A small ball of light appears around the player allowing them to see in otherwise pitch black locations, areas later on in the game get very dark and this spell aids the player a lot in terms of visual guidance.
